The Fallen Star is as doomed as the Passenger Pigeon was in the 20th Century. Once common sights like magnificent car crops are disappearing faster than election promises.
That’s a shame-these old cars and trucks are like a gateway to a less complicated past where you could simply retire the old Ford to a gentle role as a natural reclamation project.
Car guys loved them because these old war ponies were a valuable and affordable parts source. Some were even brought back to life in more powerful forms- for example,a 52 Chevy with a giant Cadillac motor turned these cars into Frankensteins.
But all that is fading thanks to overzealous, weakly planned clunker laws…enjoy the Fallen Stars while you can in 2011.
