An investment in our latest computer equipment inspired me to write about our paywall because it’s a fundamental part of our ongoing game plan to move MyStarCollectorCar directly into the future as an e-zine.
For the record, we have been in operation for over 15 years and evolved into one of the best vintage vehicle hobby magazines on the planet.
It has taken an enormous amount of time, effort, major website/equipment upgrades, and financial investment to reach this phase in our development.

Also for the record, we are not a blog where occasional posts and articles find their way to our website to reach our readers. A small website with a few pages of articles was our very brief starting point in 2009 but (15-plus years later) we have now written over 10,000 articles and will continue to offer our readers a consistently high level of automotive journalism as it relates to the old car (and truck) hobby. We are an e-zine and have earned our stripes over the years.
MyStarCollectorCar will continue to offer a new daily feature article 24/7 and 365 days of the year for our readers. We love what we do and want that emotion to show through in our written approach to the car hobby as we see it.
Our goal has always been to become an e-zine with paid subscribers who could enjoy our daily feature article, along with unlimited access to our library full of content written over the past 15 years. You have four monthly options–follow this link to learn what they are.
The alternative financial model was to flood our pages with unrelated pop-up ads and article links to National Enquirer-style stories that have nothing to do with our automotive philosophy. We are proud of our articles and did not want to share our website with click-bait stories about celebrities and miracle cures, so we dismissed this quick-buck monetary model very quickly as a revenue tool.
To summarize, our written content base has always leaned toward the old car hobby-not pages filled with quack remedies for cancer or what happened to forgotten celebrities. That is not our style because we owe our readers a better e-zine experience.
The 2024 version of MyStarCollectorCar is our best-ever version because we have invested so much financial capital and countless hours into it, whether it’s major upgrades into cyber-warehousing over 10,000 articles, newer computers (17-and counting), or travel costs to write daily features for our readers.
The reason for this article is simple: MyStarCollectorCar is not a mere hobby for us, it is a business that showcases a world (the car hobby) we happen to love, so we will continue to celebrate the car guy culture every day on our pages.
We sincerely hope this article answers our readers’ question or concerns as we evolve MyStarCollectorCar into a self-sustaining business.
