NOVEMBER 3, 2010: “BILLY THE 1973 BRONCO”- A VERY STYLISH AND UNRESTORED STALLION.

Dwayne Tester loves vintage Ford products.

He is a rancher with an affinity for old vehicles. His favorite steed these days has four wheels instead of four legs.

It’s a 1973 Ford Bronco that Dwayne purchased at a Portland swap meet.

The Bronco was a replacement for one of Dwayne’s that needed a lot of work. The path of least resistance was this bright orange unrestored beauty. There are about 70,000 miles on the Bronco, and it is very obvious that the little sport utility truck was never ridden hard and put away wet.

Dwayne decided to drive the Bronco home from Portland, Oregon to a small community in Alberta, Canada that is not far from Calgary- home of the Calgary Stampede and those other kind of broncos found at rodeos.

The Bronco gave him minimal problems, outside of plugged fuel filters and a bad fuel pump. Another reason why vehicles with horse names need exercise just as much as real horses.

This Bronco will gallop all day at 65-70 mph for Dwayne but it is also a movie star. The budding star will be featured in ‘The 19th Wife‘ and ‘Renegade Mama’.

But Dwayne is unlikely to let that fame go to his head.

All he cares about is the fact that his 1973 Ford Bronco stays in his corral for a long time.
