This may look like a problem but in reality it’s more of a statement about car guys.

If you’re in a classic ride and something goes askew you can count on one thing.

You’re going to get help.

07 imgp7181 001This MSCC Star of the Week Dart is a great example of what happens when you put the hood up on an old ride.

Help was on its way.

MSCC JULY 4 STAR OF THE DAY: ’69 SC/RAMBLER—THE PERFECT INDEPENDENCE DAY CAR

04 imgp7273 001Today is the biggest annual party in the United States because that’s what you do on the 4th of July.

The fireworks are the birthday candles for all 239 years.

The colors are the same every year—red, white and blue.

This MSCC Star of the Day AMC SC/Rambler is the perfect car for today because it’s based on the original Rambler American platform, it was built by American Motors and it’s red, white and blue.

MSCC JULY 3 STAR OF THE DAY: ’57 METEOR—THINGS YOU NEVER SEE SOUTH OF THE BORDER.

03 imgp7486 001The US-Canada border was a lot thicker in the pre-NAFTA days.

Sure you need a passport in 2015 to cross the border but back in ’57 there was no Auto Pact so the automotive industry was loaded with minefields.

In 1957 you had distinctively Canadian models that were never sold in the States.

This MSCC Star of the Day ’57 Meteor convertible was high on the list of things you never see south of the border.

MSCC JULY 2 STAR OF THE DAY: ’41 WILLYS—A FRANKENSTEIN IN THE LAND OF MONSTERS

02 imgp4549 002Willys were made to live in the land of monsters.

They were lightweight and engineered (accidently via wheelbase and other factors) to be the ultimate gassers.

Car guys loved the look of the 1940-41 Willys and massive big blocks just made them more awesome at the track.

This MSCC Star of the Day ’41 Willys is a Frankenstein in the land of monsters because it sports a 502 Merlin that pumps out 941 monstrous horses.

MSCC JULY 1 STAR OF THE DAY: CANADA DAY– CLASSIC JEEP OWNERS LOVE TO WAVE THE FLAG

01 imgp5254 001July 1st is Canada Day so the whole country takes a day off to celebrate the 148th birthday of a great country.

Canadians don’t wave flags as a rule (unless it’s the gold medal game for Olympic hockey) but they do a lot of flag waving on July 1st.

Canadians also love vintage iron so you’ll see Canada Day car shows across the country.

A lot of them will be sporting the Maple Leaf like this MSCC Star of the Day because classic Jeep owners love to wave the flag 365 days of the year.

MSCC JUNE 30 STAR OF THE DAY: TWO CLASSIC RODS, TWO DECADES, ONE PERFECT SUMMER DAY IN PARADISE

30 img 4692 001This is the last day of June so you’re looking at the official kickoff to Summer Vacation 2015.

Kids get sprung out of school and parents get sprung out of work so that sets the scene for beach time in summer resort towns.

The only thing missing is a classic summer ride.

This MSCC Star of the Day has it all because it’s the perfect summer scene—two classic rods from two classic decades on a perfect summer day in paradise.

MSCC JUNE 29 STAR OF THE DAY: AMC CONCORD–DEFINITELY JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER

29 imgp6823 001AMC wasn’t known for its muscle cars in the late 70s but they weren’t alone.

This was the netherworld of the smog era so nobody was building street monsters.

AMC had cars like Gremlins, Hornets and Concords to carry the flag and on the surface they didn’t inspire fear.

This MSCC Star of the Day Concord looks like a tricked-out track car (it is) so it does inspire fear…definitely judge a book by its cover.
