Michener-Allen Auctioneering is hosting their 26th Annual Auction on July 26th so I went to see what they had on their lot.
Their auctions are made for every type of car guy with every type of budget, so here are some of my personal highlights.

There’s a 1960 Corvair Monza in this year’s auction.

It’s a two-door coupe and it looked like an exceptionally clean, original car with a solid ownership history. I’m more of a Corvair guy than a Ralph Nader guy–so I really liked this car.
There was a truck on the other end of the scale in Michener-Allen’s lineup.

It was a 1964 Jeep J-2000 pickup that showed its years—but not in a run-far-run-fast-away-from-it sense. These are rare trucks and almost impossible to find with everything intact—this one is a good solid start to a project.
I spotted a mint ’72 Vette at the preview.

1972 was the last year of the classic chrome bumper era for Vettes, and this was a great example. Even better–it has some serious horses under the hood and a Muncie 4-speed to handle it.
There was a super-nice 1974 Chevy K-5 Blazer in the M-A tent.

Square-body Chevys are spiking in value, and this Blazer is a great example of what really pumps up the Square-body cult. It’s a rare model—that puts it at the top of the heap.
Michener-Allen had another cool project in the form of a 1965 Valiant Barracuda.

Yes, you read that right—they were Valiants. This was a roller, and it looked like it did some track time in its life. I liked how straight it was—it’s the perfect project for a Gen III hemi swap.
There was a 1953 Bel Air two-door hardtop in the tent.

I’m a sucker for early 50s two-door hardtops and this ’53 Chevy was a solid example. I never get tired of that look.
You never see a 1971 Volkswagen 411 at any car shows—not even VW shows.

That’s because they built a million Beetles for every VW 411 in Germany. I know they were built to siphon off some of the big 4-door sedan business and believe it or not, it worked. This was a reasonably big car inside and it would likely win best-of-class at any VW car show.
You won’t see many ’67 Acadians south of the border because these cars were Canadian-only.

This one had a 350 small block under the hood, but the outside said, ‘tame car’. Don’t believe it—this car is an ambush waiting to happen.
The Acadian has a Canadian cousin in the auction—a 1964 Fargo pickup.

Fargos were only sold north of the border, so this is a rare truck. It’s updated to a 360 now, so you can smoke the tires and haul stuff at the same time.
Michener-Allen has a mint 1994 Viper listed in the auction.

This is one from the early Viper years, so it already has serious interest from bidders. The word is it’s chipped-up to an insane level–but it’s still driveable. This ’94 Viper is a blue-chip investment with a punch-you-in-the-mouth attitude.
One of Michener’s other feature cars is a 1968 Mustang convertible.

This is an exceptional example of a vintage pony car convertible. All I could think about was how the rest of the summer would be a real blast for the next owner.
There was a 1969 VW Kombi camper in front of the Michener-Allen building.

You’re looking at another great example of a classic VW van. This Woodstock-era legend was clearly looked after its whole life, and it has a brand-new rebuilt motor at the back end.
Michener had two 1941 Chevy pickups in the lineup.

One was a patina-version with a classic 327 small-block under the hood. It was a true old-school build and it looked great up close—the kind of vehicle you could drive all day.
The other one was a shiny custom example of the same truck.

This ’41 Chevy has a 350 small-block. Michener-Allen’s collector car auction is a win for bidders, because two guys with two different visions for a ’41 Chevy pickup can go home happy.
There’s a ’47 Chevy Fleetside coming up at the auction.

This is a true monster—the massive tires, the Chevy big block, the side dump exhaust, and the race cam tell the story behind this brute. It’s not a sleeper—that’s obvious.
There was a tamer Chevy there in the form of a 1962 Nova convertible.

The little Nova has a one-family history and it’s been restored properly. I think it’s the perfect car to close out the Summer of 2025.
There’s a stock, right-hand drive, 1927 Willys Overland Whippet for sale at the M-A Collector Car Auction.

File this classic under ‘things you’ll never see two of’ in your lifetime. I thought it was the perfect wedding car.
Michener-Allen also has ’65 Nova for sale.

I know this car well because MyStar did a feature on it back in October 2021. It’s a former track beast that was tamed for the street. Read between the lines—it’s not really that tame.
There’s a super-clean 1990 Mustang GT convertible for sale at this auction.

They’re hard to find in this condition and the Fox-bodies are rocketing in value—this one is a solid example of an appreciating vehicle.
There’s a 1969 Ford Fairlane two-door hardtop in the sale.

This is another roller project car, but it looks like it has solid bones for a full-on resto-mod project or stock restoration.
Michener-Allen also has a 1968 Dodge D-200 pickup for sale.

This is an interesting truck because it has upscale trim, but it’s definitely a barebones work truck. Again, these are hard to find—I liked it.
A 1959 Ford Galaxie 500 convertible is also listed at this year’s M-A auction.

You don’t see many true ’59 Ford convertibles, so this one is very interesting. It’s a bored-out 332 taken to 390 cubic inches, so there’s no problem with a passing gear.
The last car I liked was a 1954 Austin Somerset A-40 project car.

These cars have a cult following and this one has a parts car, so if you’re willing to go down project road you’ll end up with a very cool little car.
The reason I like this auction is simple—it covers a lot of bases in the car world. That’s a big asset.
