May is definitely the turning point for the classic Road Warriors.
The winter gravel is off the streets, the weather is warm but not blazing hot so the old iron is less likely to vapor lock.
You’ll see far more 1st Gen Vettes on the freeway in May than December…unless you live in Havana.
There are some exceptions like this ’65 Dodge.
Or this Chevy pickup but these are infrequent sights in the winter.
Cars like this 1st Gen Challenger definitely like roads with less ice and more bare pavement.
That’s why May is such a glorious month for old iron—check out the whole lineup (winter and summer) in this month’s MSCC Road Warriors.
