The biggest gift-giving season of the year is now upon us, so shoppers may already be in severe panic mode in a search for the right Christmas gift for people on their list.
Kids are easier Christmas gift recipients because they are heavily influenced by a relentless yuletide marketing assault that begins shortly after the first leaf shows slight signs of color change. The autumn kiddy sales bombardment shapes a kid’s fanatical attachment to the current Christmas season’s can’t-miss toy or game. Brainwashed consumerism would only qualify as faint praise for the aggressive holiday ad campaign for kids and its major role in their Santa lists.
Speaking of Santa Claus, the generous old guy in a red and white suit can also become a very convenient scapegoat for bad Christmas gifts given to kids.
The stakes get higher when the recipient hits adulthood and no longer worships at a mall Santa’s throne, mainly because an adult has sharpened his or her individual tastes in the gift department and Santa is not a viable scapegoat for mature people.
An adult car guy or girl can indeed fall into the hard-to-buy-for category because the vintage vehicle hobby can become a minefield for gift-givers. For example, a simple automotive part or tool Christmas gift is not as simple as it may seem to non-car people who want to give the right gift to the car guy or girl in their lives.
Most car guys are painfully aware of the current trend toward crappy automotive tools or replacement parts for any vehicle–let alone an old one. The tools or parts in question are manufactured in foreign countries where quality control is not exactly an important priority for the sellers.
Their merciless “cut-corners-by-any-means” approach is a fundamental component of their business plan, and the grim result is a very poor copy of the original part or tool. In fact, there is a good chance a replacement part or tool may even be worse than the original miled-out part or tool.
The sad part is the automotive gift may be the right one but may suffer from a terminal case of chronic crappiness and will make life miserable for the recipient.
There are a fortunate few gift-givers who manage to find quality parts or tools, possibly manufactured in North America or, if they are very lucky, part of the highly elusive and subsequently expensive NOS (new old stock) variety. Both gifter and giftee are luckier than a lottery winner in this unlikely Christmas gift scenario.
Fortunately, we at MyStarCollectorCar has the perfect car guy and girl gift for the Christmas season-or any special occasion for that matter: a subscription to MyStarCollectorCar; one of the best vintage vehicle e-zines (online magazines) in the hobby.
We fired up MyStarCollectorCar in 2009 and added a new article every day later that spring, while surpassing well over 10,000 articles earlier this year.
MyStarCollectorCar also became a subscription magazine this past April and now have a paywall to access our written content.
The process has been smooth, and we have gathered an expanding list of subscribers over the ensuing months.
We believe our e-zine would make a perfect Christmas gift for the car guy or girl in your life this year and can solve your ideal present dilemma in the process. MyStarCollectorCar can be the gift that keeps on giving every day of the year, including this Christmas Day for your giftees.
