Just to clarify, Sixties songstress Petula Clark’s first big hit was ‘Downtown’, a number one hit that celebrated the downtown core of a community, be it a large or small community.
Innisfail, Alberta Canada is a prairie community of about 8000 people and hosts an annual car show that has skyrocketed in popularity since it was moved back to the town’s downtown area.
The first vehicle MyStarCollectorCar encountered was a 1967 Imperial convertible owned by a former go-fast guy who raced through life at ¼-mile at a time.
These days he is content to get behind the wheel of his 57-year-old Imperial and hit the road. Read how and why he became the owner of his rare Mopar classic in a future MyStarCollectorCar story.
A retired 1970 military Jeep will get our attention every time because these famous 4-wheeled soldiers are not something you see every day at a show.
Its owner is a former soldier who was able to track down every military component for his Jeep and it was not an easy task. The Jeep’s full story will be told in a future MyStarCollectorCar article.
A 1970 Mustang Mach 1 has spent its entire life in the Calgary area in southern Alberta. The current owner pampered it after he became the latest Mustang’s owner when a family member influenced him to buy the car.
Find out more about the family member’s role in the purchase in an upcoming MyStarCollectorCar piece.
A 1989 Dodge pickup was an award given to a Champion Bronc Rider from the same year (’89). The famous cowboy is a local legend in the Innisfail area and will tell his story to our readers in a future MyStarCollectorCar article.
Sneak preview: it’s a great one.
A survivor 1972 Chevy Cheyenne short box pickup in immaculate condition with only original 40,000 miles on its odometer is must-interview territory for us here at MyStarCollectorCar.
We were fortunate enough to find its owner and get the full details behind his remarkable truck. Get the entire story in a future MyStarCollectorCar feature.
A low-mileage 1977 Chevy Cheyenne C-10 short box ½-ton truck was also at the Innisfail show and looked like it just left the local GM dealership. Its owner was a retired farmer who bought his original Square Body brand-new back in the day and just wanted to relive the memories with his replacement ’77 Chevy.
Mission accomplished because his replacement truck has answered the bell for him. Read all about it in a future MyStarCollectorCar article.
A 1927 Ford Model T was at the Innisfail show and it had undergone some major changes from its factory roots.
The changes were mostly done in old school hot rod style, but the T also had a few surprising resto mod changes that will be revealed in a future MyStarCollectorCar piece.
Last, but most certainly not least, was a wild 1955 Chevy 2-door post resto mod towing a custom utility trailer built out of two ’55 Chevys.
