This summer, the hottest car guy meme on social media begins with “THIS VEHICLE” and explains the vintage vehicle hobby in less than 150 words.
We at MyStarCollectorCar totally endorse the message in the meme and congratulate the original author’s ability to take the shortest route to a point.

The car hobby is the most amazing pastime on the planet because of the people who live and breathe it 365 days of the year-even when the temperature is minus 40 and the snow is three feet high. Many car guys use the off-season to work on their vintage vehicles and advance them to another level for the upcoming summer car show season.

They take their vehicles to car shows and donate their time and money to attend the events. Some vehicles are trophy quality while others are simply the owner’s pride and joy. Either way, there is a strong emotional connection between an owner and his or her vintage ride-and they have ample reason to be proud of their retro vehicle.

The writer who penned “THIS VEHICLE” truly understood the car culture and wanted to let people know what owners think of the peanut gallery who have no vintage ride, no investment of time or money into a vintage ride, no necessary skills to work on a vintage ride and, worst of all, no sense of when to keep their mouths shut and their unwanted opinions to themselves.

Many car guys already beat themselves up enough about the shortcomings in their builds. But they are their own worst enemies when it comes to their quality standards because we have seen thousands of vintage vehicles at show over the past 16 years and we are always amazed at their level of excellence.

However, there are other sides to any car show when it comes to entries, including unrestored vehicles with a story etched into their skins. These vehicles often carry a personal history that may extend over generations, so the beloved family chariot becomes a family heirloom for the owners.

The net result is a vintage ride that will never undergo a major restoration because that would erase the vehicle’s history with every dent removal.
Brain-dead armchair quarterbacks with no social skills will find a flaw in every car show entry because they attend car shows simply to suck the joy out of the events with their unwarranted smear campaigns.

We at MyStarCollectorCar have no (make that less than no) respect for any obnoxious jerk who mocks any entry at any car show. The person who wrote “THIS VEHICLE” discussed the amount of time and money invested in a car project and invited the thoughtless clowns to keep their opinions to themselves. Unless they have a generous side and wanted to throw their cash at somebody else’s project and make it meet their “high standards”.

However, we are extremely doubtful these bozos will be writing checks anytime soon either, because they are not generous people. And here’s a newsflash: moronic and heavy-handed criticism about a vintage vehicle at a show is not a form of currency-nor is it an investment in the car hobby.
Don’t be generous with obnoxious behavior.
