This is the third year for MSCC “What’s It?” Wednesday.
This feature was an overnight success back in 2016 so the only thing to do was keep it rolling in 2018.
Look for the first clue at the top of the section and the second clue will be in the middle. If you’re stuck for the answer, you’ll find it at the bottom of the section.
MSCC DECEMBER 26 “WHAT’S IT?” WEDNESDAY—END THE YEAR WITH A WIN
This is the last MSCC “What’s It?” Wednesday for 2018 so the best thing you can do is end it with a win—maybe this 1st clue is all you need.
If not, this second clue might be the one to push this over the goal line.
If not, check back on Thursday because you’ll get that last win for 2018 because you’ll find the solution to the puzzle.

MSCC DECEMBER 19 “WHAT’S IT?” WEDNESDAY—THE CLUES ARE AN ASSET…OR MAYBE NOT
“What’s It?” clues are designed to confuse rather than solve the puzzle but they can work—if they do it’s an instant “I know what it is” moment.
This may be one of those moments.
Or not—maybe this second clue will clear the smoke.

MYSTARCOLLECTORCAR DECEMBER 12 “WHAT’S IT WEDNESDAY—IT’S A BLACK AND WHITE ISSUE
There are many ways to make “What’s It?” Wednesday clues a little more difficult and one of the best is to turn the clues into black and white pictures like this first clue.
The same process applies to this second clue so if the black and white format is enough to throw you off the trail then check back on Thursday for a full-size picture in color.

MSCC DECEMBER 5 “WHAT’S IT?” WEDNESDAY—IT’S DEFINITELY BLUE BUT THE REST IS OPEN TO DEBATE
Sometimes these “What’s It?” clues are modified to black and white or some other version of their original color but this time you get the factory color.
That color may be a huge asset to ID this classic—just like this tailgate clue but if it isn’t come back on Thursday for the answer.
It’s a ’59 Dodge Mayfair station wagon.
MYSTARCOLLECTORCAR NOVEMBER 28 “WHAT’S IT?” WEDNESDAY—IMAGINE IT BEFORE THE CRASH
Today’s “What’s It?” is more like a forensic examination for clues because this is clearly a post-crash picture.
So is this second clue although it covers an undamaged area—the roof line might be all you need.

MSCC NOVEMBER 21 “WHAT’S IT?” WEDNESDAY—TWO GOOD CLUES EQUALS ONE GOOD ANSWER
MyStarCollectorCar rarely gives a clean look at a taillight as a clue but in this case you can see the whole housing.
This second clue is another good shot of the front fender.
Two good clues should equal one good answer but in this case if they don’t help check back below on Thursday for the whole car—and the answer.

MSCC NOVEMBER 14 “WHAT’S IT?” WEDNESDAY—THE LIGHTS ARE ALL YOU GET
Today’s “What’s It?” is all about lights so the first clue is a headlight.
The second clue is a taillight.

NOVEMBER 7 MSCC “WHAT’S IT?” WEDNESDAY—THE SMOKE MAY GET IN YOUR EYES
Most MSCC “What’s It?” Wednesday clues are obscured by rust, dents, trees, grass or any combination of the aforementioned but today’s clues are shrouded in smoke.
This 2nd clue will give you even more smoke.
If the smoke got in your eyes and you couldn’t solve it—look for the answer below on Thursday.
It’s a ’69 Camaro under all that smoke.
MSCC OCTOBER 24 “WHAT’S IT? WEDNESDAY”—THE PICTURE IS CLEAR
You get a break this week—the first clue hasn’t been messed with very much.
The second clue is less clear because it’s like seeing the wheel well in bad light.

MSCC OCTOBER 17 “WHAT’S IT?” WEDNESDAY—HOW GOOD ARE YOU AT ROOFS?
The typical “What’s It?” clue focuses on things like fenders and side trim but today’s clues are both roof oriented.
The second clue gives you the front of the roof.
If neither roof clue does it for you can see the whole car on Thursday…looking down at the roof.
It’s a ’68 Cougar.
MYSTARCOLLECTORCAR OCTOBER 10 “WHAT’S IT?’’ WEDNESDAY—IT’S A GASSER BUT STILL RECOGNIZABLE
Gassers retain a relatively stock look so this front fender and hood might not be difficult.
Here’s a clean look at the rear quarter on the driver’s side.

MSCC OCTOBER 3 “WHAT’S IT?” WEDNESDAY—TWO CLUES DOUBLE YOUR CHANCES
MyStarCollectorCar isn’t a cruel exercise in problem-solving because you get two clues.
Here’s the 2nd clue to really drive this point home.
Let’s face it—two clues double your chances of solving this but if that isn’t enough you can get a third clue and the answer on Thursday.

Anyone who’s done a car project knows the reality behind the “before” part and this first clue is definitely a before shot.
So is this 2nd clue but sharp-eyed readers should be able work with this picture.

Most MSCC “What’s It?” Wednesday clues are presented right side up but occasionally they’re tilted at weird angles but this clue is presented in its natural state.
Yes, it’s upside down in the real world but this second clue might help.
If not, check back on Thursday and you’ll see the answer but the vehicle will still be upside down.

MYSTARCOLLECTORCAR SEPTEMBER 12 “WHAT’S IT?” WEDNESDAY—THERE MIGHT BE ENOUGH LEFT TO RECOGNIZE THIS CLASSIC
Old cars look a lot different under the skin but the first clue does include an external clue (grille piece) so that might help.
This second clue gives you a section of the roof line to evaluate—and possibly solve this mystery.

Last week’s “What’s It?” Wednesday was solved by a number of MSCC readers so this week might be more of a challenge.
Or not—this full side shot might make it easy.

It’s a 1960 Olds Dynamic 88 convertible.
MYSTARCOLLECTORCAR AUGUST 29TH “WHAT’S IT?” WEDNESDAY—THE CLUES WEREN’T MESSED WITH…TOO MUCH
There’s a fine balance with these MSCC “What’s It?” clues because you have to balance between making them unsolvable or too easy—this one was messed with a little so it should be in the middle range.
This second clue hasn’t been messed with at all.

MYSTARCOLLECTORCAR AUGUST 22 “WHAT’S IT?” WEDNESDAY—TRY A TAIL LIGHT AND FENDER TRIM ON FOR SIZE
“What’s It?” clues come in many forms but the two of them should add up to a good guess so this tail light is the first clue.
This front fender trim is the second clue.

This is a little different angle on the old iron clue but clearly it’s a taillight.
Here’s another one—clearly it’s sitting on a trailer but they’re both good clues.

MYSTARCOLLECTORCAR AUGUST 8 “WHAT’S IT?” WEDNESDAY—THE COLOR IS DESIGNED TO CONFUSE YOU
Some colors completely throw people off—pink is definitely one of those colors so it’s a natural hurdle for solving “What’s It?” Wednesday.
This other clue (a fender well) might help you break through the pink overload.

Lights are a dead giveaway for identifying an old car or truck but if there’s a hole where the taillight used to be then you have a problem.
This headlight-less front end shot still has other clues like the hood and the fender line.

MSCC JULY 18 “WHAT’S IT?” WEDNESDAY—SMASHED UP CLUES ARE STILL BETTER THAN NO CLUES
Today’s “What’s It?” Wednesday is a little roughed-up but it’s still a good look at a grille.
So is this 2nd clue and yes—it’s another section of the front grille.

MSCC JULY 10 “WHAT’S IT?” WEDNESDAY—CLUES COME IN THE FORM OF THE FRONT AND BACK FENDER
The fenders of a car are typically a great clue—it might just be to identify a decade but some fenders give more than that.
This back fender might be the more than that clue you’re looking for in today’s What’s It?.

MSCC “What’s It?” Wednesday is all about clues that aren’t quite what they seem—otherwise it would be too easy.
This time you get clear shots of the car so the challenge is to ID it using your vast knowledge…or the trusty web search.

It’s a 1921 Heine-Velox limousine–that was easy right?
MSCC JUNE 27 “WHAT’S IT?” WEDNESDAY—THE PILE OF WOOD PROBABLY WON’T HELP
There’s a trick to every clue for MSCC “What’s It?” Wednesday—don’t give a clean view of the vehicle but make it solvable at some level so you get a piece of the left headlight and the grill but the pile of wood hides the rest of the car.
Maybe this shot of the right side of the car will help…even with the wood on the hood.

MSCC JUNE 20 “WHAT’S IT?” WEDNESDAY—THE ONLY THING THAT CHANGED WAS THE COLOR OF THE PICTURE
Some guys would recognize this What’s It? clue right away if it was in color so that’s why it’s not in color but you get a good fender and headlight shot.
This is another full fender clue and it’s in color—just not the correct colors.
