Cremona is located in west central Alberta near the Rocky Mountains.
The village hosts an annual car show every September, so they gamble on the weather because snow is not unusual in Alberta at that time of year.
They cut it close with the thermometer this year, but Cremona pulled off another great event.

The proximity to the mountains makes the weather a pure gamble at any time of year, but the temperature was close to freezing when the show started.
That was a non-factor for the event because this is cattle and oil country, so being outside is a way of life in the Cremona area. That’s why the streets were full of cars and spectators on a less than ideal day for a car show. Cremona people don’t blink at a little cool weather.
The first car I spotted was a 1954 Ford Skyliner. These are rare cars, and this one had a serious custom touch to it.
You could call this car a period-correct resto-mod because under the sheet metal beats the heart of something far different than a ’54 Ford. Look for the full story in 2027 on MyStar.
The next car I found was a mint 1965 Corvette. This was a long-term relationship that evolved into something new and incredible to drive.

The third story I found was a 1967 Camaro and this was also a long-term ownership story.
Yes, it also evolved into something new after all those years, and you’ll learn the details in 2027 on MyStar. This car went down a similar path to the Corvette because its owner wanted more out of his old car buddy.
Jim found a 1964 Valiant Barracuda at the Cremona show. They were the first pony cars by a few weeks and this one was a classic example.
This car drew the owner in for the purchase and its mileage was a big factor, so that’s a big part of the plot. Look for the complete MyStar owner’s story next year.
There was a 1981 Pontiac Trans Am convertible at the Cremona car show. Needless to say, this is a very rare car.

Cremona was a great example of how a well-run car show can still draw a crowd on a non-sunny day.
