PAOLI, Pa. (March 20th, 2019) –AmericanTrucks’ (AT) “What’s Up With That?” YouTube series is a new approach to highlighting different product categories to educate consumers on the subtle or not so subtle differences between product lines. In AT’s most recent episode, host Justin Dugan sharpens his pocketknife to talk all about F-150 bed covers.

The bed cover, or tonneau as it is sometimes referred to, is one of the most popular truck accessories purchased on AT with an almost endless selection of brands and styles. Laying out five of the most popular styles of bed covers (snap cover, tri-fold, roller, retractable and hinged), Justin weighs their pros and cons, demonstrates basic operations, while showing the benefits of a hard cover versus a soft cover for all out protection.

“Anytime I get to take out my knife at work and cut up a perfectly good soft cover, I take that as a win- and one hell of a stress reliever.”—Justin Dugan

LIVONIA, Mi. (March 13, 2019) – AmericanMuscle’s (AM) Justin Dugan visited Performance Assembly Solutions in Livonia, Michigan to see exactly how Ford Performance hand-assembles their Coyote V8 and Ford GT V6 engines. To start, Justin spends some time with Ford Performance Engine Engineer Ron Ewert to examine their Aluminator SC Crate Engines as well as the 5.2L Voodoo engine found in the Mustang FP350S turnkey racecar.

From initial inspection and basic assembly, to quality checks and testing, Justin puts Ron’s knowledge to work regarding technical engine building and the relationship of the Coyote to Modular Ford engines. As a special treat, Ron gives Justin an exclusive look at Ford’s GT engine building laboratory, displaying 3.5L Ford GT Ecoboost engines in various states of assembly. Finally, Justin gets some one-on-one time with Ford Performance Motorsports Engineer Dan German to talk about his crucial role in the development of Ford Performance parts like air intakes, control packs, power modules, and wiring harnesses.

PAOLI, Pa. (March 13, 2019) –  AmericanMuscle’s (AM) Justin Dugan just received the inside scoop on some 2020 GT500 details straight from Ford Motor Company, which is the focus in today’s episode of AM’s Mustang News. While these details aren’t power or weight related, Ford did share some new GT500 details and images with AM for the first time today.

“I know it’s not the big juicy horsepower numbers, price, or weight figures we have all been waiting for—trust me I know—but it is something pretty cool that we got directly from Ford, and we wanted to share it with you guys!”—Justin Dugan

Today, FoMoCo announced that the 2020 GT500 will be the coolest, most thermally efficient, Mustang ever thanks to its six heat exchangers supporting: engine, supercharger, oil, transmission, auxiliary, and A/C condenser cooling. On top of this, improvements made to the aerodynamics, specifically the bumpers, hood, brake ducting, and rear wing, will allow the 2020 GT500 to expel a tremendous amount of heat under wide-open throttle while providing the downforce needed to keep the tires planted.

In this episode of AM’s Mustang News, Justin explains how Ford achieved this using their 3-D modeling techniques, a process Justin is familiar with after touring their facility in a recent episode of AM’s Hot Lap. Furthermore, traditional testing methods in the wind tunnel and on the track were performed to validate Ford engineer’s hard work to ensure the GT500 delivers consistent performance without fear of overheating.

The Haul | F-150 Factory Tour How F-150s are Made from Start to Finish

DEARBORN, Mi. (March 6th, 2019) – AmericanTrucks’ (AT) Justin Dugan recently visited Dearborn, Michigan for a tour of Ford Motor Company’s F-150 plant to see how they build the number one selling vehicle in the world. From stamped metal, to riveting, laser welding, and robots nicknamed “Godzilla”, Justin provides his point of view while being guided through the various stages and areas of the facility.

In this episode of AT’s “The Haul”, viewers will get an up-close look at some of the behind-the-scenes operations at Ford’s Dearborn Plant, where humans and robots work in harmony to build and QC over 1300 trucks every day. Equating to the production of one vehicle every 53-seconds, this high-volume plant demonstrates the efficiency of Ford’s production line and the significance of robotics in new vehicle production.

“It’s hard to wrap your head around the task of building America’s best-selling pickup truck—it’s even harder to comprehend the fact that a brand-new F-150 rolls off the line every 53 seconds! And it takes an army of both man and machine to make it all possible.”—Justin Dugan

Truck Build | 2013 F-150 Gets 2” Lift and 33s 18×9 -12mm Wheels and 305/65R18 Tires

PAOLI, Pa. (February 27th, 2019) – On AmericanTrucks.com (AT), we receive a lot of questions and feedback from our customers on various topics across the automotive aftermarket spectrum. One of the more common questions we receive focuses on F150 lift kit and wheel and tire size compatibility. Adding ground clearance is one of the most common modifications we see truck owners perform and, when paired with upsized tires plus wheels with a lower offset, knowing what will work before clicking “checkout” is an item where everyone benefits.

In AT’s latest series of Truck Build videos, Justin Dugan focuses on a customer’s 2013 F150 FX4 SuperCrew to discuss different ways to fit 33” tires without breaking the bank. Parts featured in this episode include: Rough Country 2 in. Lifted Strut Kit w/ Rear Shocks, 18×9 Havok Off-Road H103 Matte Black 6-Lug Wheels, Barricade Aggressive Molded Fender Flares, and Cooper Discoverer A/T3 Tires.

PAOLI, Pa. (February 19th, 2019) – In this episode of AmericanTrucks’ (AT) “The Haul” YouTube video series, Justin Dugan introduces the latest edition to AT’s vehicle fleet: A Lightning Blue 2019 Ford Ranger XLT SuperCrew®. The reintroduction of the Ranger nameplate helps fill a void in Ford’s mid-sized truck line-up, which many blue oval faithfuls and American truck consumers have missed since it took a hiatus in 2011.

In this video, Justin gives the new Ranger a thorough once over, explaining the history of the nameplate, pointing out the pros and cons as well as differences between trim packages. After strapping it to AT’s in-house dynamometer and taking it for a spin around the block, Justin provides his two cents on everything from drivability to ergonomic design. Was the new US-spec Ranger worth waiting 8 years for or is it just another overpriced mid-sized truck in an overcrowded segment?

Watch it here: https://www.americantrucks.com/the-haul-feb2019.html

“There is a lot to like about the 2019 Ranger but as a Raptor owner, I really enjoyed the smaller size of Ford’s new mid-size offering.  Maneuverability is great on the road and in tight spaces while still offering more than enough interior room for the family with the SuperCrew® cab.  And that smaller exterior foot print will allow the Ranger to get into spots off road my massive Raptor could only dream about.” –Justin Dugan
